Permit Confirmed! Our Next Be-In Joy Boston is on...
Greetings and Salutations!!!
We have a date!
The permit is official: Be-In Joy will return to the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common on
Saturday, November 21, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Be-In Joy is a free, open-air event where people come together through music, dancing, play, conversation, active listening, gratitude, and other shared experiences that create joy and connection. You can participate as much or as little as you like, stay for four hours or stop by for a few minutes.
We’re thrilled to be bringing it back.
As we prepare for the event, we are also taking the legal steps required to formally establish The Be-In Initiative as a nonprofit organization.
We need to raise $520 to cover:
$35 for Massachusetts incorporation
$10 for the Certificate of Resident Agent, which allows us to receive legal documents
$275 for the IRS 501(c)(3) application
$100 for Massachusetts Attorney General charity registration
$35 for charitable solicitation registration
$15 for platform and processing fees
$50 for unexpected expenses
Every contribution, of any size, will help us complete this process and build the foundation The Be-In needs to continue growing.
A Facebook update
Our Facebook profile is still “permanently disabled,” which means we cannot use our Facebook Page or create and promote the event there. Quick recap: we were hacked, auto disabled and now haven't been able to get the profile reinstated and I don't have access to the Be-In Page.
We have pursued every available appeal route, filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and sent formal notice with supporting exhibits to Meta’s headquarters in both Boston and Menlo Park. We are giving Meta one more week to respond. If we still hear nothing, the last option we can think of is filing a small-claims case.
Until this is resolved, our website and emails are the most reliable places to receive updates. Because we cannot currently reach people through Facebook, forwarding this email and sharing the event directly would be especially helpful.
